Achraf Hakimi Set to Return for Morocco’s Key Match Against Zambia in AFCON 2025

After being sidelined since November 5, 2025, due to an ankle injury sustained while playing for Paris Saint-Germain, Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi is set to make his return against Zambia this Monday.

Following their victory over Comoros (2-0) and a draw against Mali (1-1), Morocco is poised to face Zambia in the final match of Group A this Monday at 20:00. To boost the team’s performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Moroccan coach Walid Regragui announced Hakimi’s return, stating: “What is certain is that he will play his first match of the AFCON 2025 tomorrow.” The African Ballon d’Or winner for 2025 may start as a key player, although his expected playing time remains uncertain.
